Talk about peaking at the right time! Beauty and the Beasts proved that her rookie season success was no fluke, taking down the whole league in her sophomore campaign, joining that elite list known as SPFL Champions!
SPFL Super Bowl
Beauty and Beasts 182 — Bright 1s 126: Following up on her semifinal performance, Beauty relied on that Cincinnati duo of Burrow and Higgins to the tune of 78 combined points, while Devonta Smith’s 30 put the team in triple figures with only three scorers. The Bright 1s, our juggernaut all season, couldn’t quite the bow on their season with some ill timed duds and some injury woes. Lamar Jackson (31) and the Super Charger Defense (25) led their scoring.

Bitter Midgets 162 — Thunder Monkeys 116: The Bitter Midgets claimed a bronze medal and enough cash to recoup their league entry fees with a nice showing once again, led by their Motor City Duo of Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs each scoring 28. Baker Mayfield (34) and Trey McBride (30) were the leading Thunder Monkeys, who somehow claimed a fourth place finish in a season riddled with obstacles.
I was enjoying the holidays a little too much to post anything last week, so a quick recap of the semifinal round, as well:
Beauty and Beasts 194 — Bitter Midgets 182: Maybe the game of the season saw the Beasts take down another regular season behemoth in the semifinal round, led by Justin Jefferson (36) and, who knew?, the Falcons have a defense (35). The Bitter Midgets were led by the Packers D (32) and rookie sensation Brian Thomas Jr (30), but their championship dreams were waylaid when Jalen Hurts (4) went down with an early concussion. Kudos to the Midgets to still putting up quite a fight.
Bright 1s 125 — Thunder Monkeys 84: On the other end of the spectrum, we had this travesty of a semifinal, with the Bright 1s cruising to an easy win with only 125 points, led by Devon Achane (34) and Lamar Jackson (22). The Monkeys were led, again by Baker Reagan Mayfield (23) and his Buc teammate Jalen McMillan (16). They were, unfortunately, the only double figure scorers in Thunder land that week.
And with that, we wrap up yet another SPFL season. I can’t believe it. It goes by so fast! I hope you all enjoyed and will make plans to give it another go next season. I will send out keeper list options this summer. Until then, congratulations to Britney on her first title and to the 1s and the Midgets on outstanding seasons, as well. I will send out championship winnings via the method you paid your fees today or tomorrow. Hope you all have a happy new year and enjoy the remaining games! I appreciate you all…
