Lots of Updates!

Lots of news to share from the league offices, so let’s get to it…

• We had the very rare owner retirement in the SPFL, Cody and his Bull Rings, hung up their spurs to focus on other stuff. I am happy to announce that we quickly found a replacement. She — yes, we finally have another female owner, which is apropos in the season following our first ever female champion — is a coworker of Shane’s and her name is Britney. She obviously knows what she is doing based on her smart keeper selections and she has quickly become one of my favorite owners as she’s already paid her dues!!! Amazing, thanks Britney!
• I randomized our draft order and it is already entered on the Yahoo site. It is as follows,
  • Tim (Bitter Midgets)
  • Greg (Piranha Brothers)
  • Britney (Team Name TBA)
  • Garland (Thunder Monkeys)
  • Michael (Heath’s Heroes)
  • Ryan (Yesterday’s Corn)
  • Bruce (No Names)
  • Amber (Tennessee Turf Turtles)
  • Shane (Bright 1s)
  • Travis (Mayberry Mighty Moops)
  • Demurris (Ghost of Megatron)
  • Wesley (Greased Lightning)
• I set up our divisions, based on draft order, with even numbers in one division and odds in the other.
• Keepers have been entered on the Yahoo site. Just as a reminder of our bylaws — first round selections are not eligible to be kept; waiver wire/free agents are not eligible to be kept; and players must be on an active roster in your last game played to be eligible. We had three teams choose to start fresh (Demurris, Bruce, and Greg) and had one team (Amber) select an ineligible keeper, so we have four teams with all 17 selections in our upcoming draft. Also as a reminder, it’s best practice to text me your selections rather than just pick them on the Yahoo site. In no particular order, the other keepers are as follow:
  • Garland – Dak Prescott (7th round); 49ers D (8th round)
  • Tim – Jared Goff (13th round)
  • Britney – DeVonta Smith (8th round); Chris Olave (11th round)
  • Shane – Alexander Mattison (12th round); Garrett Wilson (15th round)

  • Michael – Josh Allen (2nd round)
  • Wesley – Mark Andrews (2nd round); Tony Pollard (5th round)
  • Ryan – Justin Fields (10th round)

• Remember our draft is next Sunday (the 27th) at 2pm sharp. If you’re not going to participate, setting up auto draft would be great for the rest of us.
• League dues are now payable. $50 per team and I accept Paypay, Venmo, Zelle, or cash/check at the league office mailbox.
